Producing with The Young Astronauts, I shot and edited two profiles featuring Murda Beatz and WondaGurl—two of Toronto's most influential producers who were reshaping hip-hop from their home studios. These weren't just behind-the-scenes glimpses; they were portraits of young artists at the intersection of hustle, craft, and culture. Murda and WondaGurl represented a generation redefining what it meant to be from Toronto. Not waiting for permission, just making the work and letting it speak.

We wanted to capture their unique personalities—whether that was their swag walking through the city or the grit of the street courts off Gerrard. Toronto has always had something to prove, and Murda and WondaGurl were living proof: world-class talent doesn't just come from LA or New York. Sometimes it comes from right here.
