How Did You Meet?

In 2015, I actually met my wife in the back of an Uber Pool. I thought the story was cute. So I dry pitched it to the head of marketing at Uber and they loved it. I mean, how could they not?

The concept was simple: No script. Just us, telling the story of how we went from awkward small talk in the backseat to building a life together.

As the director, I wanted to capture the intimacy and spontaneity of it all—the way modern love can start with a ping on your phone and a slightly uncomfortable silence. It's not a grand romantic gesture. It's two people realizing they're in the right place at the right time, even if that place is traffic on a Saturday afternoon.

Uber ran the spot as part of their campaign celebrating real connections made possible by ride-sharing. For me, it was a chance to turn one of the best accidents of my life into something I could share with the world.
